Justine H. Brousseau is a founding partner and is the managing partner of Kimball Brousseau LLP.  She focuses her practice on employment law and litigation, executive counseling, and employment coaching. Ms. Brousseau represents individuals and employers in state and federal court, before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, as well as in arbitration, mediation, and on appeal. In her employment and executive practice, she advises clients on a wide range of issues, including employment contracts, executive compensation, negotiation of severance and separation agreements, salary negotiation, employee handbooks, noncompetition and nonsolicitation agreements, discrimination matters, wage and hour laws, and performance management issues. In the appropriate situation she also serves as an executive coach to her clients.

Ms. Brousseau has been active in both the Boston Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association and is considered to be a leader in the employment law community. Ms. Brousseau served as Chair of the BBA Education Committee (2011-2013), which she was a member of since 2003, and was a Co-Chair of the Continuing Legal Education Committee (2008–2013) for the Labor and Employment Section. She was a member of the Labor and Employment Steering Committee from 1999-2013, including serving as steering committee Co-Chair (2001–2003). As a public service project for the BBA, Ms. Brousseau organized and was a contributing author to the Employment Law Guide: A Practical Guide to Understanding Massachusetts Employment Law, published by the Labor and Employment Section of the BBA. Ms. Brousseau also served on the Labor and Employment Section Council of the MBA. She chaired its Employee Rights and Responsibilities Committee, where she co-chaired the MBA subcommittees responsible for drafting the MCAD Disability Law Guidelines and the MCAD Employment Regulations. Ms. Brousseau served as Coordinator for the MCAD Regulations Project, consisting of three bipartisan committees that drafted proposed regulations for the MCAD.

In 2012, Ms. Brousseau was named a Top 50 Woman of Law by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly. This award celebrates legal educators, trailblazers and role models who have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in their chosen fields. Ms. Brousseau was named a “Super Lawyer” by Boston magazine and Massachusetts Super Lawyers. Ms. Brousseau has been a frequent lecturer and author of articles on trial practice and strategy, employment law, and breaking the glass-ceiling for continuing legal education programs and professional organizations. She coauthored the “Employment Law 101” chapter of Winning Legal Strategies for Employment Law (Aspatore Books 2005). She is a graduate of Providence College and New England School of Law and is a member of both the Massachusetts and Rhode Island Bars.
